Event Description
It’s many years since we dedicated an evening solely to New Zealand wines, and it’s time to rectify that. It can be easy to dismiss the Land of the Long White Cloud as being just a source of Sauvignon Blanc, but while Sauvignon does make up over 70% of annual production, there are several other styles of wine that deserve serious attention.
We won’t be ignoring Sauvignon in this Masterclass – there’ll be a wonderful one in the line-up. But it’ll be joined by seven other delicious wines, including Syrah and a Bordeaux-inspired red from Hawkes Bay, a much-fêted Auckland Chardonnay, and no fewer than THREE Pinot Noirs from Marlborough, Martinborough and Central Otago.
It’s a great chance to experience the diversity of grapes, winemaking styles and regions that New Zealand now offers – and to see what you get when you spend a little more on that bottle of Sauvignon. As with all our masterclasses, there’ll be eight wines with an average price in excess of £25 per bottle, plus some cheese and some of our favourite crackers.
So kia ora inaianei – that’s ‘bye for now’ in Maori – and see you in November!
