Our "ultimate" cheese & wine tasting unites the very best in food & drink to make your taste buds sing! The line-up will change each time to include seasonal products and keep our tasting experience fresh! Here's a sneak peak at what we have enjoyed previously at this event:
English Sparkling & Baron Bigod: The high acidity and "brioche" notes of a traditional method English sparkler cut right through the rich, mushroomy creaminess of the Baron Bigod (the UK’s answer to Brie de Meaux).
Sauternes & Roquefort: The "Gold Standard" of contrast. The intense saltiness and metallic tang of the blue cheese are perfectly balanced by the luscious honey and apricot sweetness of the wine.
Right Bank Bordeaux & Montgomery Cheddar: Merlot-dominant blends have the plush tannins and plum notes to stand up to the earthy, nutty, and occasionally "horsy" grit of a clothbound Montgomery.
Rioja Reserva & Aged Manchego: A regional classic. The coconut and vanilla from the American oak in the Rioja complement the oily, sheepy richness of an aged Manchego.
We source our cheeses from The Cheese Shop in Tunbridge Wells and strive to use the best, seasonal cheeses. Our final selection depends on the advice from our cheesemonger and we greatly trust his expertise!
