So why are orange wines & cheese the perfect match?
Unlike standard white wines, orange wines undergo maceration with grape skins. This process adds a gentle hint of tannin, some gorgeous oxidative aromas - think dried apricot, nuts, and honey - all of which mirror the savory qualities of aged cheese. As these wines are made from white grapes, they also keep their crisp acidity which cleanses the palate after every salty bite of cheese.
