Event Description
Join Wine School founder and Chief Taster, Jimmy Smith, on this stellar tasting showcasing a line-up curated from his Summer 2022 trip to Crete. Jimmy was kindly invited out by Wines of Crete and was exceptionally impressed with the array of stunning wines produced in this once-cradle-of-civilisation. There is a fascinating diversity of local ‘indigenous’ grape varieties that is certainly impressive with weird and wonderful varieties such as Romeiko, Vidiano, Kotsifali, Mandilaria and Liatiko, to name a few. They are also affordable, of wonderful quality and crafted by truly beautiful and lovely people. Jimmy has selected nine (yes nine...!) wines including the hedonistic Silva Daskalaki, Emilia 2010 which won the Best Sweet of Wine of the Year at the Thessaloniki Wine Competition with 95pts.
This tasting is guaranteed to enthuse you to book a last minute Autumnal jaunt to Crete to explore the delights that this awesome part of Greece has to offer.
