Let's face it – Burgundy is becoming more and more expensive. But do not despair! In this tasting, Wine School founder Jimmy Smith and Chief Wine Buyer Matt Wicksteed have selected eight white wines (many from Jimmy’s cellar) that they firmly believe hold the moniker ‘Better than Burgundy.’
These are wines that have been selected for their complexity, intensity, balance and length and can compare to the beauty of fine white Burgundy. This tasting will show that even without Chardonnay as the grape variety, skilled winemakers all over the world are able to produce white wines with the depth and character normally only associated specifically to white Burgundian wines.
This tasting offers an amazing opportunity to learn about different grape varieties and winemaking styles, and of course, to taste some fantastic wines.
