Event Description
Join us for a fabulous evening in Brighton for a Fish and Chip Supper served alongside a tasting of six perfectly picked wines. Starting with white wine seafood friendly classics like Picpoul and Albariño, we'll finish with a sparkling wine.
Your evening tasting will consist of two parts:
Approx 7pm-8pm tutored tasting of 6 wines that pair like a dream with Fish and Chips. We'll show you how to taste wine like a pro, teach you the principles of food and wine pairing and introduce you to each wine.
Here are some of the wines that you'll meet on the tasting ...
- Picpoul de Pinet - the classic Southern French seafood wine
- Albariño - in Spain they pair this wine with deep fried calamari- it's fabulous with fish.
- Sauvignon Blanc - New Zealand, Chile or France, wines from this grape are great with fish and chips!
- Muscadet Sevre et Maine - another French seafood classic
- Bacchus - this English classic works brilliantly with south coast fish and chips!
- Sparkling wine - a mystery sparkling wine chosen to go with fish and chips. Could be English or Champagne!
Approx 8pm-9pm we'll tuck into our Fish and Chips and peas... which wine works best?
If you are keen to learn a little more about wine and food pairing but would appreciate a more relaxed and casual approach then this is the tasting for you!
Please notify us at the time of booking if you have any specific dietry requirements and we will liaise with Hotel du Vin to try and accommodate them. We cannot guarantee to be able to change the menu on the evening of the event.
