Event Description
Discover Spain: Rioja & The Ebro Valley
We take a trip down the Ebro river where we taste a fruity rosé wine from the next door neighbour to Rioja, the Basque region of Navarra. Navarra also makes reds from international varieties of Cabernet and Merlot, so we'll be tasting one of those too. We journey East to Aragon and try wines made from Garnacha (Grenache) and Cariñena (Carignan) from regions like Calatayud, Campo de Borja or the experimental region of Somontano.
We finish with the great and famous Rioja, King of Spanish wine regions and favourite amongst British wine lovers. We will taste a Gran Reserva, compare with a Crianza as well as a traditional white wine. Something for everyone!
All tastings include; minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes, tasting sheet, use of professional tastings glasses and nibbles.
This tasting is part of our 4-week Vuelta a España Course and can be purchased as full course discovering the wines of Spain
