Event Description
Discover France - Rhone and The South
If you are a fan of smooth, full bodied reds, food friendly whites and a summery rose, then this tasting is for you. Join us as we explore the history, regions and wide range of grape varieties that the Rhone Valley and the South of France have to offer.
The classic wine region of the Rhone Valley is home to the beautiful Syrah – which back in the day was used to beef up the wines from Bordeaux (something the Bordelais like to keep under their hats). The styles of wines are rather different between the Northern and Southern Rhone, which you will discover through tasting wines such as Crozes Hermitage and Chateauneuf du Pape. The South of France has a wonderful Mediterranean climate which is not just fantastic for holidaying in, but also great for growing ripe grapes with bag loads of flavour. We will explore some regions renowned for their quality, but it is the wide range and affordability of wines from the South, that we’re sure will surprise and delight you!
