Our Covid Statement

COVID STATEMENT

UPDATE  3rd DECEMBER 2020

As from 3rd December we will be in the new tier 2. These new restrictions do not affect your classes/tastings at the South London Wine School.

These restrictions relate to social gatherings in non-secure businesses. The South London Wine School is classed as Adult Education and follows the same guidance as given to schools. Since our classes are held in pubs and hotels, we are also to follow guidance given to the Hospitality Industry.

The regulations state that pubs and restaurants (i.e. the venues where we hold our tastings) would be allowed to have more than six customers inside, but that groups of six (and no more) would have to be socially distant from each other, and we are following these guidelines.

The South London Wine School follows hospitality/education guidelines and, as a business, we are following risk assessments and Covid-secure guidance as issued by the Government, and our seating plan allows for proper social distancing. i.e. not in groups.

Therefore, in-person classes and courses will continue to run unless further restrictions are put in place.

Our face to face events will start again soon!

We’re currently working hard behind the scenes with our venues and plan to run our face to face events from December. We will be introducing enhanced hygiene and social distancing measures designed to keep you safe and can’t wait to taste wine with our guests again.

If you have any queries about an existing or future booking please e-mail us or give us a call.

Due to Covid19 we suspended our face to face events back in March in line with government advice to keep the nation, our guests and people who work with us safe. We’re now talking to our venue(s) and are preparing to re-open from September.

Our tastings and events will still follow familiar formats but we will introduce the following Covid 19 safety measures:

(List measures as applicable)

  •        Enhanced hygiene measures for staff
  •        Enhanced hygiene measures for customers
  •        Class size restrictions
  •        Room sanitisation
  •        Glass hygiene
  •        Removal of spitoons
  •        Social distancing measures
  •        Venue entry/exit/waiting arrangements
  •        Customer facilities (toilets etc)
  •        Track & trace statement

We thank you in advance for your support in adhering to these measures during our events. Please keep an eye on our list of events as this will be updated as we confirm our Winter schedule. You can continue to buy gift vouchers with confidence as they are valid for 2 years from the date of purchase.

If we cannot run our courses due to lockdown restrictions we will endeavor to transfer them online wherever possible
