Event Description
The most famous wine-producing region in the world, where the red wine has been known as "Claret" for centuries. From generic, easy-drinking style wines to complex, ageworthy superstars.
Grape varieties are of course mainly Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon. However, there are other varieties that play an important supporting role such as Cabernet Franc, Petit Verdot and even a little Malbec.
Bordeaux has a complex system of appellations and classification systems and tonight we will explore what these means.
We will sample red wines from the following appellations:
- Bordeaux AC or Bordeaux Supérieur AC
- Saint-Émilion Grand Cru AC or Pomerol AC
- Graves AC or Pessac-Léognan AC
- Médoc AC or Haut-Médoc AC
- Saint-Estèphe AC
- Margaux AC
