What should be Australia’s signature wine?
Australia does a lot of things well but where does it really excel? Is it with South Australia Shiraz or Western Australia Cabernet, Clare Valley Riesling or Hunter Valley Semillon? Or maybe it is as a second home to some of the world’s less planted grape varieties?
Over the course of three online tastings we will showcase six Australian wines. Provisional line-up (to be confirmed subject to availability):
Pizzini Pietra Rossa King Valley Sangiovese 2019 £18.50
Forage Supply Co 'Caveman' Barossa Valley Carignan 2022 £22.00
The Society's Exhibition Hunter Valley Semillon 2018 £18.00
Mac Forbes Spring Riesling 2021 £13.95
The Society's Exhibition Margaret River Cabernet Sauvignon 2019 £17.00
Peter Lehmann Hill & Valley Barossa Valley Shiraz 2020 £14.50
The case of 6 wines is being supplied by The Wine Society at a cost of £103.95. The final line up will be confirmed the week prior to the tasting. Any substitutes will, as far as possible, be of a similar style and price.
