Event Description
Ask a wine expert which their favourite region is, and Alsace will be somewhere near the top, if not their favourite. Yet, for most consumers it's still a region that's still approached with tentative caution - you're never sure what you are going to get.
And yet, it is perhaps one of the most unqiue grape growing regions in France. Protected by the Vosges Mountains, this vineyard mecca is formed from a collapsed rift valley. Over time, layers of rock and soil have been exposed giving one of the most varied terroirs in France. The result? A plethora of wine styles to suit all palates and plates.
Join us as we work our way wonderfully varied and complex wines from Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Pinot Gris, Muscat and Pinot Noir. We'll try a range of styles - light and aromatic to full-bodied and rich; ages - young a fresh to complex and aged. All paired beautifully with cheeses and meats from the Alsace region.
Your tasting will include: tasting samples of six carefully selected wines, light nibbles, wine notes and handouts and a 2 hour interactive presentation.
