Duration
7 hours (including travel)

Event Description

With its South-facing hills, warm climate and chalky terrain, Hampshire is the perfect county for flourishing vineyards - resulting in the award-winning and increasingly renowned wines that we shall be tasting throughout the day during this most incredible visitor experience, tour and tasting.

Would you like to be a part of this exciting new industry that is English Sparkling Wine? We are at the forefront of this in Hampshire where spectacular jewels of local vineyards nestle in the greenery of the South Downs National Park.

Our tour meets you in the historic town of Winchester (outside the train station, so you don’t need to drive!) and half an hour later we will be through the valleys of Hampshire arriving at Hambledon village. Hambledon is the ‘cradle of cricket’, surrounded by fields and woodlands. Here we will have a private tour followed by a tasting of three classics – some of the best English Sparkling Wine there is.

After this informative and enjoyable relaxing morning, you will be driven to Quob Park Estate. Quob Park is a spectacular location with a fantastic range of local and international wines. Here, you will enjoy an elegant 2-course lunch cooked by Michelin-trained chefs, before a gentle tour of the vineyards followed by a tasting session with hand-picked Hampshire-based sparkling wines, guided by our very own Sommelier & Champagne Expert - Cecile Bergart of Hampshire Wine School - who will take you deeper into the mystery of these specific English sparkling wines.  After this, all you’ll be able to handle is delivery back to Winchester Train Station around 5:30pm. So that’s what we’ll do.

FAQs

Transport – you will be comfortable, but as you’re only in the vehicles for a maximum of around a half hour, and only three times in the day, while we typically use a minibus or minibuses, we may use a mix of transport including taxis if the situation requires it.

Shoes, Stairs and Chalk - There is some walking up narrow stairs and along chalk or slightly muddy places. Please be aware of this – the vineyards are best seen on foot so if you have mobility issues or don’t enjoy stairs please talk to us before booking. Please wear sensible shoes you don’t mind getting a little mud on them.

What to wear – You will want a coat, even in summer – and the most important thing is to be comfortable – but the venues are relatively smart so a nice shirt or blouse underneath your coat will be nice – a tshirt may be a bit informal.

What to bring – an enquiring mind, but no pets or unexpected items please. No dangerous items.

Umbrellas – yes it’s England, so it does run, often and just when you don’t expect it. Most venues supply umbrellas but we advise bringing your own or a waterproof just in case.

Food and drink - please do not bring any food or drink on your transport and definitely nothing alcoholic unless its purchased on the trip and has the cork still in place! ;-)

Accessibility – unfortunately our tours can’t guarantee that they will be able to cater for wheelchairs or anyone with mobility issues. You will need to be able to walk and climb stairs. If you have any challenges in this regard, please contact us before you book – we need to help the vineyards with any suggestions and we can discuss options with you.

Please note that refunds are offered as a voucher for a tasting or tour, no cash refunds are offered. We offer you the opportunity to swap dates if you need to cancel within a month, but no swapping or refund will be issued if you cancel within 7 days of the tour. You can, however, send a substitute in your place. Vineyards will not accept Stag or Hen Parties or large same-sex groups, or anyone under 18, or any behaviour that spoils the tour for others.
