Event Description
Hampshire Sparkling Wine has achieved international acclaim in recent years, often beating Champagne and other sparkling wines in blind-tasting competitions. The quality of sparkling wine from Hampshire wine producers is now truly world-class.
But like many areas of wine, there are several sub-divisions of style, each with different flavour profiles, and the meaning of the terminology on the wines’ labels can sometimes be less than obvious.
Brut is the most widely produced style, and there are so many excellent examples that it seems almost egregious to pick only a couple out. However, the 5 that we will go for on the night are wines that offer superb quality with good value for money.
We shall stay as local as possible, with examples from Hampshire (Hattingley Valley, Hambledon, Raimes, The Grange and obviously Quob Park itself) ... a truly eye-opening and tastebuds-pleasing experience!
All 5 wines will be accompanied by carefully selected canapes by our Sommelier, Cecile Bergart of Hampshire Wine School, to highlight each bubbly to perfection. Made fresh just for you by Quob Park's Michelin-trained chefs, then enjoy some smoked salmon canapes, some pate, cheese straws, beef wellington and tempura cauliflower, enhanced by each sparkling wine tasted.
THERE WILL ALSO BE THE OPPORTUNITY TO MEET THE GRAPE GROWER, ROB TERRY, BEHIND THE QUOB PARK LABELS! Come and ask all your bubbly questions to our specialist and enthusiast Hampshire vineyard owner ... DO NOT MISS OUT!
