Can you really taste the difference between cheap wine & expensive wine?
Every so often I get a question about the difference between cheap and expensive wine, as, after all, it’s just fermented grapes, isn’t it?
Well with this tasting, we will, with a bit of fun, try to find out just why there is a difference.
As we discuss what it is that makes the difference, we will be tasting similar wines but at different price points against each other to show the differences. However, to make it a bit more fun, we will be tasting the wines blind.
This means that we will know what type of wine it is, e.g. Sauvignon Blanc, we will also know what the price of the wines are, we just have to match the correct wine to the correct glass.
The ‘plonk’ price will be under £10, and the ‘posh’ will be over £20
This a great way to not only see the difference in quality, but also to see which style of wine you prefer. What you will see, however, is how a few pounds can change the quality of your favourite wine considerably.
