Event Description

For individuals seeking to delve deeper into the world of wines, this qualification provides a detailed understanding of grape growing and wine making. Upon completion you will be able to assess wines accurately, and use your understanding to confidently explain wine style and quality. 

Upon successful completion you will receive a WSET certificate and lapel pin, and will be able to use the associated WSET certified logo. 

These are ideal for trade professionals and wine enthusiasts.

 

What’s Covered on the Course:

Through a combination of tasting and theory, you’ll explore the factors that impact style and quality and learn how to describe these wines with confidence.

  • The key factors in the production of wine: location, grape growing, winemaking, maturation and bottling
  • The key characteristics of the principal:
  • Still wines of the world
  • Sparkling wines of the world
  • Fortified wines of the world
  • How to make appropriate wine recommendations
  • How to taste wines using the WSET Level 3 Systematic Approach to Tasting Wine® (SAT)
    ​Successful candidates will be able to taste and describe with confidence the characteristics of the principal wines of the world and give information on the key factors influencing style, quality and price. Those who work with wine will be in a great position to advise management, to answer customer queries authoritatively, and to make informed selections of wines in a variety of situations.

Entry Requirements:
The Level 3 Award in Wines is designed to build on a solid foundation of knowledge, equivalent to that which is gained through Level 2 Award in Wines (previously known as the Level 2 Award in Wines and Spirits). For this reason, the course is recommended to students who have achieved the WSET Level 2 qualification, however this qualification isn't a requirement to enrol onto this course.

Course Schedule & Important Dates:

Friday 5th September 2021: Registration Deadline to allow time to order the wines and post your study pack to you. You can book after this time, but we cannot guarantee to get your materails to you in time for the first session

SUN 19th September 2021 at 10am – 3pm with one hour lunch break 12 noon to 1pm: 1st LIVE virtual classroom session

SUN 3rd October 2021 at 10am – 3pm with one hour lunch break 12 noon to 1pm: 2nd LIVE virtual classroom session

SUN 17th October 2021 at 10am – 3pm with one hour lunch break 12 noon to 1pm: 3rd LIVE virtual classroom session

SUN 31st October 2021 at 10am – 3pm with one hour lunch break 12 noon to 1pm: 4th LIVE virtual classroom session

SUN 14th November 2021 at 10am – 3pm with one hour lunch break 12 noon to 1pm: 5th LIVE virtual classroom session

SUN 28th November at 10am – 3pm with one hour lunch break 12 noon to 1pm: 6th LIVE virtual classroom session

All sessions will be recorded so that you can follow them at your own pace PLUSwe will be offering extra sessions throughout the course to go over any topics, to answer any questions or just to have a chat and a glass of wine!

SUN 5th December at 10am - 2pm  Exam IN PERSON in Chelmsford.
