Event Description
At this tasting we will decode French wines for you and give you the keys to understanding where they use the most common grape varieties. The next time you go shopping for French wine you will understand the regions and how this effects the flavours you will encounter inside the bottle.
The Loire is often referred to as the 'garden of France' thanks to its lush, verdant countryside and produces some of the most delicious Sauvignon Blanc in the world, with a refreshing bite and vitality.
In Burgundy we find wines which have captured many a wine-lover's heart: Chablis, Meursault, Gevery-Chambertin, even Beaujolais a veritable roll call of wine royalty! We will discover exactly what it is that makes these wines so special and learn how to pick up a bargain or two.
Alsace is home to Riesling and Gewurztraminer which are found here side-by-side with Pinot Blanc and Gris, all adding to a small-but-complex wine-producing region offering the most aromatic and different styles in comparison to the rest of France. These wines can vary from dry to sweet, but all have a fantastically complex quality, and are great wines to match to intense and spicy foods!
All tastings include: minimum of 6 wines sourced locally so you can find them easily if you like them, full tasting notes and use of professional tastings glasses.
All our courses can be purchased as a Gift either as a dated or undated voucher.
