Event Description
On this tasting we'll talk a little bit about the history of Burgundy, the impact of soils, the vineyards locations and of course the labelling terms. We're tasting 6 different wines from Chablis in the North down through the region to Mâcon and Beaujolais in the South.
There are 100 different appellations, numerous individual vineyards and more than 3,000 individual producers. But don't worry - we're here to help you and guide you through the wines, the grapes, the regions and find the one you love and feel confident ordering or choosing.
The world's most famous white wine grape may have originated in Burgundy, where there’s a village named after it. Do you know what it is? The other major grapes in the region are Pinot Noir and Gamay.
Fleurie or Brouilly are probably the most well known red wines from Gamay grape. Hopefully we can get some of the lesser known grapes for you to taste too, like Aligote.
Really looking forward to this tasting - we love Wines from Burgundy!
