Event Description
“If you’ve never tried Bulgarian wine before, prepare to be amazed. The gamza grape makes fresh-tasting, supple and light red wines, here showcasing the strawberry and raspberry fruit aromas and silky texture that will make it a great dinner-table companion. Perfumed, gently floral and beautifully balanced – perfect for rejuvenating jaded palates.” The Wine Society
Just as a taster, wines from Georgia, they’ve been making wine for thousands of years in this Black Sea country – and now it’s at the forefront of a renaissance in traditional methods and becoming more available here. The grape Assyrtiko is one of the top wines in Greece, produced all over the country. When parts of Europe struggle to grow great grapes, not so in Central and Eastern Europe where Romania, Hungary, Bulgaria, Moldova and Austria had bumper crops.
