Event Description
Join Cheshire Mersey Local Wine School for a Saturday of discovery – a full day of tasting, learning and discovering the wonderful world of wine. Perfect for beginners, no previous wine knowledge is needed!
This friendly and informal wine tasting experience will teach you everything you need to know to feel more confident choosing, tasting and enjoying wine.
We'll start with the story of winemaking and explore how grape variety, climate, winemaking techniques and soil influence the wine in your glass. You'll learn how to swirl, sniff and taste like a pro before exploring a fantastic range of different wine styles and grape varieties.
Expect some familiar favourites such as Sauvignon Blanc, Malbec and Rioja Reserva, alongside some exciting discoveries including Albariño, Northern Rhône Syrah and dry Riesling.
We'll also take the mystery out of wine labels and terminology, show you how to pair wine and food, explain how to choose wines to suit your personal taste and even answer the perennial question: how much should you really spend on a bottle of wine?
Whether you're completely new to wine or simply want to improve your knowledge, this Chester wine tasting is a fun, sociable and delicious way to spend a Saturday.
