Event Description
Discover what makes French wine so distinctive and how wines from around the world compare at this fun and relaxed wine tasting in Chester with Cheshire Mersey Local Wine School.
Across six tasting rounds, we'll explore how terroir, grape variety, climate and winemaking influence the wine in your glass. We'll look at classic French regions including Burgundy, Champagne, the Rhône, Loire and South West France, alongside wines made from the same grape varieties in different parts of the world.
Why does Chardonnay thrive in so many countries? How does French Syrah compare with examples from elsewhere? And what's the difference between Champagne and other sparkling wine? We'll taste, explore and discover the answers together.
We'll finish with a relaxed blind tasting, putting your new knowledge to the test and seeing if you can spot the difference between French classics and their New World counterparts.
Perfect for beginners and wine lovers alike, this sociable Chester wine tasting experience is a great way to learn more about wine, discover new favourites and become more confident choosing a bottle.
