Assessment

The 2.5-hour exam will be taken in person in a class in Cambridge on either a Saturday or Sunday at a time and date most convenient for the majority of the class. It will be preceded by another live tasting calibration session lasting 1.5hrs.

Course Wines

We are working with local retailer James Thorne Wines to select a 23-bottle accompanying case of wines for this course to illustrate the syllabus. All quality levels are included to give adequate tasting practice for the exam and it is important we taste the same wines together during practice so you can calibrate your palate.

James is offering free delivery and 15% discount. We are still finalising the selection based on stock and availability but we expect the overall price to be around £375. We have reduced the fee for the online version of this course to reflect you are purchasing your own wines (Level 3 normally costs £825 in classroom at the London WSET school, for example).

Wine preservation advice is given so that after each tasting exercise you can reseal the wines and return to enjoy them over subsequent days and weeks.

Special Educational Needs

Please make the school aware if you have a condition which may mean that you will qualify for additional help during the exam such as dyslexia.
