Explore the wines of Hungary including a 'Grand Cru' Tokaji.
Today's generation of wine lovers do not want to be limited to drinking the same grapes over and over. To expand your grape horizons we'll try a food-friendly dry Furmint blended with Hárslevelu and a Kékfrankos from Sopron.
In the northeast corner of the country lies Hungary's most famous wine region: Tokaji. Its reputation for making fine dessert wines dates as far back as 1650, much earlier than in Sauternes, by comparison.
We'll try a top example of Tokaji from 'Grand Cru' vineyard areas and a dry Furmint made by a co-op using an innovative way to ensure quality (they pay a higher price for grapes if growers follow advice from their vineyard expert).
HOW IT WORKS
You buy the wines separately and need only consume a tasting sample of each wine during the tutorial. You can follow our preservation tips to keep any leftovers for another day.
