Event Description
On this evening tasting we will compare the unique wine styles of two of France’s famous winemaking valleys as well as explore the sunny South of France and taste a range of at least 6 red, white & Rosé wines.
Burgundy
Nestling in the centre of France, Burgundy is a wine region locked in any wine aficionado's heart. It is steeped in tradition and home to classic grape varieties such as Chardonnay, Gamay and the expressive and elegant Pinot Noir. It's also where you'll find some of the most prestigious wines on the planet, from areas such as Puligny-Montrachet, Chablis and Nuits-St-Georges. We shall explore the up-and-coming Côte Chalonnaise, the delicate wines from the Maconnais and the lighter style, fruit-driven wines from Beaujolais. A delightful region to taste your way through.
The Rhone Valley
The classic wine region of the Rhone Valley is home to the seductive Syrah grape and the generous Grenache. The styles of wines are rather different between the Northern and Southern Rhone, which you will discover through tasting wines such as Crozes Hermitage, Cotes du Rhône and Chateauneuf-du-Pape.
The South of France
The South of France has a wonderful Mediterranean climate which is not just fantastic for holidaying in, but also great for growing ripe grapes loaded with flavour. We will explore some regions renowned for their quality, but it is the wide range and affordability of wines from the South, that we’re sure will surprise and delight you!
Professional ISO tasting glasses, all course materials including tasting sheets & water are provided.
